Cellular phones (also known as “mobile phones”) are wireless devices that transmit voice information over the airwaves.
Generally more expensive per minute than landline telephones or payphones, mobile phones give users the convenience of making calls anywhere that service is available.
Most modern day cell phones include additional features such as text messaging, wireless web browsing, music downloads, and even mobile television.
The most popular wireless voice standards are GSM (in Europe, Africa, and most of Asia), and CDMA (in North America and some parts of east Asia).
